Many children thrive with goal oriented learning. While Ballroom Dancing is a beautiful artform of dance, it is also recognised as sport called 'Dancesport'. Competition Ballroom Dancing is fast paced, competitive, strategic & highly athletic.

As we recognise that not all children enjoy competing, there is no expectation that a child must compete should they participate in this class. We also offer Medal & Troupe classes for those who prefer not to compete.

Children will have the opportunity to compete at all levels - entry, state, national, Australian & beyond. Children do not require a partner to compete as it is an individual, partnership & team sport.  

Competing does require further commitment than general medal classes. Medal & Competition Classes are a prerequisite to compete. We strongly encourage a private lesson & troupe performance participation to assist with personal goals & performance styling.

- Competition Class: This class teaches children how to compete as competing is a learnt skill. This includes presentation, further technical drills, mental stamina, strategy & fitness training. Solos & partnerships are encouraged to join. Children who compete go as a team & are supported by Coaches. Competitions can involve extra costs such as lessons, dresses/suit attire, travel & time. Competing can be a great inspiration for improvement & focus in children, but also develops team dynamics & communication.

- Private Lessons: One on one lessons to work on personalised goals & mechanical understanding, For best results, private lessons should be consistent weekly.  

- Competition Class: Wednesday 6pm (55mins)
- Troupe Performance Team 1: Thursday 4pm (45mins)

‍Registration Fees: All Registration Fees for 2024 are included within our semester 1 packages. Medal Class Registration Insurance is $50 pp & $15pp for any additional class & must be paid if not paid in Semester 1.
